San Pedro de Alcántarais a small Spanish town on the Costa del Sol, part of the municipality and city of Marbella, but not as expensive and quieter than other cities on the coast. The basilica, the watchtower and these baths are strong evidence that the Romans occupied the region in the past.
Palaeo-Christian Basilica of Vega del Mar – This archaeological find was discovered in the early 20th century when workers were planting eucalyptus trees. It is one of the oldest basilicas belonging to the first Christians in the area. A necropolis was also discovered in the vicinity, formed by about 200 tombs.
Church – This church was also one of the projects of the Marquis del Duero and at that time served as the parish church of the city. It was built in 1866 and is in front of a large city square.
San Pedro Boulevard remains active even in the evening with a large number of tapas restaurants and cafeterias that offer both classic Spanish dishes and a variety of international cuisine.
